OHSWEKEN - Six Nations is seeking to take its opposition to Bill C-10 to the Senate to explain how the proposed legislation discriminates against band members and harms their economic interests, says elected Chief Ava Hill.
The Assembly of First Nations Chiefs in New Brunswick have filed for an injunction in the Court of Queen's Bench, arguing the new strategy — which will increase the caps for harvesting softwood lumber — will cause irreversible environmental harm.
